Outreach is an organization of parishioners who, in the spirit of justice and charity, provide assistance to those in need, both members of the parish and others in the community. The ministry stresses person-to-person relationship with those whom it serves. The ministry sponsors a monthly food drive. Members meet regularly to report on their activities to aid others in need.
The group also coordinates a monthly community meal, affectionately called, The Banquet. Usually held the last Tuesday of every month, this meal is open to all in the community to come enjoy a nutritious meal, fellowship and good hospitality.
Additionally, this parish ministry provides monthly meals to the St. Aloysius Hunger Center and to the St. Philomena Center. Volunteer opportunities include delivering food to the center, food preparation and serving the meals, as well as purchasing of all food items.
Finally, this committee sponsors the Giving Tree, which provides parishioners an opportunity to give something extra at Christmas to those in need within our parish community boundary. Contact Ellen Ivory to see how you can help with this awesome ministry.
